Research, not "we tested it"

Our reviews are currently based on research, not on running each app in a live business. We'll never claim hands-on testing we haven't done. When we do test a product ourselves, the page will say exactly what we did.

Where our facts come from

  • The vendor's own pricing pages and fee schedules
  • Their help center and product documentation
  • App Store and Google Play listings
  • Answers from the vendor to questions we email them

Every review ends with a How we researched this box listing the sources and the date we checked each one. Prices are in US dollars.

Asking the vendors

We email every company we cover and ask them to confirm prices, fees and key features. When they do, the page shows a Confirmed by vendor badge with the date and what they confirmed. Vendors can correct facts, but they don't get to approve our opinions.

No star ratings

A single score hides the thing that matters most: an app that's perfect for a solo lash artist can be wrong for a ten-chair barbershop. So instead of stars, each review gives a short verdict, a clear "best for" and "not for", and a fit label for each type of business:

  • Strong fit — built with this kind of business in mind; covers what it needs out of the box.
  • Good fit — works well, with a gap or two you can live with.
  • Not a fit — missing something this kind of business relies on.

How pages are written

We use AI tools to help draft pages from our research notes. Every page is then edited by a person, and every price and feature claim is checked against our sourced product data — never against what a model "remembers".

Keeping it current

Every page shows when it was last updated, and prices show when they were last checked. Changes are logged in our public changelog. If you spot something out of date, email hello@bookingsoftwarereviews.comand we'll fix it.

Independence

No vendor pays to be included or to be ranked higher. How we make money (and what that means for you) is on our disclosure page.
